Costume & Makeup Design (ages 7 and up)

8 Week session runs July 13-August 31.

Students ages 7 and up will begin by working with a provided script and learning how to analyze text to uncover the details that bring characters to life. Through guided instruction, they will identify key elements such as time period, style, setting, personality, and emotional tone, using this information to develop thoughtful design choices.

Each student will select two characters from the script to create fully developed costume designs. They will explore how color, texture, silhouette, and historical or stylistic context work together to visually define a character and support storytelling on stage.

In addition, students will design makeup looks for two characters, applying their script analysis skills to determine how makeup enhances character, mood, and performance. They will learn foundational makeup terminology as well as basic application techniques used in theatrical design.
